Criminal Investigators Division (CID).

The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CID) reviews and investigates case referred to the District Attorney& Office from local law enforcement for prosecution. The investigators complete investigative reports, locate and interview victims and witnesses, as well as transporting them to legal proceedings. CID investigators also serve legal documents, such as court subpoenas and warrants and provide testimony in court proceedings. CID is led by a Chief Criminal Investigator and includes 14 Investigators, all of whom are Police Office Standards and Training certified (POST) law enforcement professionals with extensive field experience and training, as well as an administrative support staff member.


CID supports the District Attorney’s Office through four sub-divisions that include the Major Crimes Division, the Other Felony Division, Child Support Division and the Certified Convictions Division. CID has other discrete functions such as assisting with courthouse security, background investigations and community outreach.
