ACCOUNTABILITY COURT

In 2012, the Georgia Legislature created the Georgia Accountability Court Program, a criminal justice reform initiative established to provide effective alternatives to sentencing for nonviolent offenders and reduce the state & prison population. Accountability Courts offer a critical sentencing option for nonviolent property and drug offenders. In Chatham County, the Accountability courts include, Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Competency Court, and Veteran’s Court. In the Juvenile Court, the DA's Office provides staffing  for SPARC, HOPE and Family Treatment Court.
