The Expedited Case Resolution Unit (ECR) is the DA’s Office’s rapid response team. ECR handles all preliminary hearings and identifies cases for expedited resolution through pre-indictment or pre-accusation plea offers. Where possible, cases are pled in Recorder’s Court at their initial appearance. In other instances, cases are pled early on special dockets set by the Superior and State Court judges. ECR functions to rapidly identify readily resolved cases and keep them from entering the court pipeline.
